I-E-1. DAVID R. SIBERT (1849 – 1896), son of Jasper Sibert3 (David2, John David1)

David R. Sibert was born on 23 September 1849 and died in 1896. [1] He married Mary Hicks. Mary was born in November 1853 in Arkansas. She is probably the Mary E. Hicks, aged seven and born in Arkansas, who lived with her inferred parents J.C. and Margaret Hicks in Powell, Craighead County, Arkansas on 11 June 1860. [2]

According to the census, on 23 June 1880, David R., aged 31 and born in Alabama, and Mary E., aged 26 and born in Arkansas, lived in Powell with their children: Sarah E., aged six and born in Arkansas; Louisa, aged three and born in Arkansas; and Mary E., aged three and born in Arkansas. David was an illiterate farmer. Mary E. could not write. [2]

According to the census, in June 1900, Marry L., a widow born in November 1853, lived in Shady Grove, Green County, Arkansas with her son, Will J., born in August 1882 in Arkansas, and her daughter Miney, born in October 1885 in Arkansas. She was illiterate, but ran a farm. Her son was a farmer. On 3 May 1910, Mollie lived with her daughter Mary's family in Shady Grove. She was a 57-year-old widow. [2]

I-E-1-a. Sarah E. Sibert was born about 1873 in Arkansas. There is no apparent further record.

I-E-1-b. Louisa Sibert (twin?) was born about 1876 in Arkansas. She probably died by 16 March 1881.

I-E-1-c. Mary E. Sibert (twin?) was born about 1876 in Arkansas. She died on 18 May 1972 and is buried in the Trinity Cemetery in Bono, Craighead County. [3] She married Henry O'Connor. [1][3]

According to the census, on 3 May 1910, Henry, aged 48, and Merry, aged 36, lived in Shady Grove—next to the families of Mary's brother William and sister Lou—with their children: Atie, aged 17; Ivie, aged [illegible]; Willie, aged 11; Carrie, aged five; and Lovine, aged two. Mary's mother also lived with them. Henry and Mary had been married six years. Mary had had five children. Henry was a railroad worker. In February 1920 Henry, aged 58, and Mary, aged 44, lived in Shady Grove with their children Cary, aged 15; Lille, aged eight; and Lucile, aged five. Henry was a farmer. [2]

i. Atie O'Connor was born about 1892 in Arkansas.

ii. Ivie O'Connor was born say 1895 in Arkansas.

iii. Willie O'Connor 1898 in Arkansas.

iv. Carrie O'Connor was born about 1904 in Arkansas.

v. Lovine O'Connor was born about 1907 in Arkansas.

vi. Lillie Mae O'Connor was born on 8 May 1911 in Arkansas. [3] She married Andy Buchanan on 2 October 1926 in Lawrence County. [3][4][5] She died on 30 June 1943. [3] She is buried in the Trinity Cemetery. [3]

Children of Lillie O'Connor and Andy Buchanan:

vii. Lucille O'Connor was born about 1914 in Arkansas. She married James Edward Graves on 18 December 1940 in Craighead County. [6]

I-E-1-d. Lou Sibert was born on 16 March 1881. [4] She died of apoplexy on 16 March 1952, aged 71, in Shady Grove. [4] She married Laurence O'Connor on 25 December 1896, aged 15. [3] Laurence, the son of Laurence and Elinore O'Connor, was born on 13 June 1872 in Obion, Tennessee and died on 14 December 1938, aged 66. Lou and Laurence are buried in the Trinity Cemetery. [3]

Lou's death certificate says she was the daughter of Dave Sibert and Molly Hicks. She was a widow, and she had lived in Shady Grove for 40 years. The informant was her daughter, Mrs. Till Sutton. [4]

According to the census, on 3 May 1910, Lawrence, aged 37, and Lou, aged 36, lived in Shady Grove with their children: Jessie, aged nine; Bob, aged seven; Till, aged five[!]; Roy, aged three; and Sadie [Trudie?], aged one. They were all born in Arkansas. Lawrence was a farmer; he and Lou had been married 14 years; Lou had had six children and five were living. [2]

Children of Lou Sibert and Laurence O'Connor: (order uncertain)

i. Tilda E. "Till" O'Connor was born on 13 February 1900 and died on 27 June 1980. [3] Till of Bono married Clyde Sutton of Bono on 22 December 1918. [5] Clyde was born on 21 July 1888 and died on 28 November 1974. [3] Till and Clyde are buried in the Trinity Cemetery. [3]

A blotched birth certificate records the birth of a child (probably Mansfield) of Till O'Connor and [blotched] Sutton of Truman. [7]

Children of Till O'Connor and Clyde Sutton:

ii. Jessie O'Connor was born about 1900[!] in Arkansas.

iii. William Robert O'Connor was born on 11 November 1904[!]. [3] He died on 24 May 1970, aged 65. [3] He married Virginia Ann Phillips. [3] Virginia, the daughter of Edward and Mary Phillips, was born on 22 February 1902 and she died on 14 March 1996, aged 94. [3] William and Virginia are buried in the Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick, Lawrence County, Arkansas. [3]

Children of William Robert O'Connor and Virginia Ann Phillips:

iv. Roy David O'Connor was born on 9 February 1905[!]. [3] He died on 10 November 1976, aged 71. [3] He married Hazel Healy. [3] Hazel was born on was born on 10 August 1910 and she died on 11 November 2000. [3] Roy and Hazel are buried in the Trinity Cemetery. [3]

v. Trudie Eva O'Connor was born in 1908. [3] She died on 11 October 2002. [3] She married Charlie Reeves. [3] Charlie was born in 1902 and he died in 1965. [3] Trudie and Charlie are buried in the Trinity Cemetery. [3]

vi. John Otis O'Connor was born on 8 May 1910 in Bono. [3][7] He died on 10 December 1976, aged 66. [3] He married Julia M. Simmons. [3] Julia was born on 18 April 1929 and she died on 2 August 2022, aged 93. [3] John and Julia are buried in the Trinity Cemetery. [3]

John's birth certificate says he was the son of Lawrence O'Connor and Lou Sibert. The informant was their brother-in-law Clyde Sutton. [3]

Children of John O'Connor and Julia M. Simmons:

I-E-1-e. William Jasper Sibert was born on 28 August 1881 in Jonesboro, Craighead County. He died on 1 July 1952 in St. Louis. He married Rachel Annie West.

I-E-1-f. Minnie Lee Sibert was born on 5 October 1885 in Green County, Arkansas. [7][8] She died on 16 February 1962 in the Poplar Bluff Hospital in Butler County, Missouri. [8] he married William Tennyson (spelled various ways in the records). They presumably divorced by 1920. Minnie Lee was buried in the Shain Memorial Cemetery in Ash Hill, Butler County. [8]

According to her death certificate, Minnie Lee Tennyson of Fisk, Butler County, the daughter of David Seibert and Mollie Hicks, died of complications of hernia surgery. She was divorced. The informant was Flossie Overall of Fisk. [8]

According to the census, on 26 January 1920, Minnie, aged 36 and born in Arkansas, was living with her brother William and her presumed daughter Flossie Tennyson, aged 11 and born in Arkansas, in Truman. [2]

Children of Minnie Lee Sibert and William Tennyson:

i. Flossie Retta Tennyson was born on 28 July 1908 in Craighead County. [3] She died on 25 August 1980. [3] She married Edmond H. Overall on or shortly after 23 September 23 September 1926 (date of marriage license) in Craighead County. [3][6] Edmond was born on 15 April 1909 and died on 30 October 1976. [3] Flossie and Edmond are buried in the Shain Memorial Cemetery. [3]

According to Flossie's (delayed) birth certificate, she was the daughter of William and Minnie Lee (Sibert) Tennyson. Her married name was Overall. [7]
